Each year, BIRD is awarding at least three original (basic or clinical) research projects related to inflammatory bowel diseases with a BIRD grant of 6000 Euro each.
Applicants should be younger than 40 on the submission deadline
The application for the BIRD grant should be in the following format:
- One page CV of the applicant
- Summary of previous research of the applicant
- Research project in maximum 3 pages A4, Arial Narrow, simple interline, with the following sections (+ 1 extra-page of references if needed):
- Background of the current research project
- Research hypothesis AND objectives
- Methodology/strategy and limitations
- Research environment
- Perspectives and added value for the IBD patients
The deadline for the application of the BIRD grant is March (check later for specific date).
Each application will be evaluated by a at least 5 Belgian and at least 1 foreign reviewer, on the following criteria (each scored from 1 to 10).
- Interest of the study
- Originality of the study
- Writing and presentation
- Feasibility of the study
- Previous research of the applicant
The selected BIRD grant will be announced in May (check later for specific date).
